Energy-optimised valves
The type of valves use has a major impact on a system’s energy efficiency. For example our BOA-H globe valves with optimum insulation.
Up to 50 percent energy saved compared to yoke valves.
A large amount of energy can be saved by minimising heat losses in heated systems, for example in heat transfer processes. This is realised by optimum insulation and reduced heat dissipation surfaces. Significant energy savings can be made compared with yoke valves.

SAMPLE CALCULATION
Saving energy in paper production
In a large paper mill, thermal oil of 300 °C is used 8000 operating hours per year to heat special calender roll machinery. The system comprises the following shut-off valves.

A total of 10 valves DN 50 and 12 valves DN 100 are used in the mill.

As you have seen in the example, the use of an ideally insulated BOA-H globe valve saves up to 75 percent of energy compared with a yoke valve.
